As founder of the Watry Design Group, Inc. in 1975, now known as Watry Design Inc. Nick Watry gained a national reputation as a premier designer of post-tensioned concrete framed structures in the United States, most notably parking Structures.  Leading into his time at the Watry Design Group were ten years of private construction industry work that included introducing post-tensioned concrete to architects, engineers, and contractors in the State of Hawaii.  

Since the Fall of 2002, Nick has been on the faculty of the College of Architecture & Environmental Design, Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo, CA.  Major teaching assignments are and were:  Integrated Project Delivery, (Design / Build), Fundamentals of Construction Management, Large Scale Structures, Post-Tensioned Concrete, and Senior Projects.

Throughout Nick’s professional career he has participated passionately in community, professional and educational endeavors.  Clients and colleagues have often noted how Nick’s efforts have made a positive contribution to the project, neighborhood and University.
